A school with ambition

North Mead is a school with strong outcomes and high expectations.

Our 2026 Key Stage 2 outcomes included:

  • 92% reaching the expected standard in Reading
  • 83% in Writing
  • 88% in Mathematics
  • 81% in Reading, Writing and Mathematics combined

We are proud of these outcomes, but our work is not finished.

Our current improvement priorities include:

  • increasing consistency in teaching
  • strengthening outcomes for vulnerable pupils
  • developing curriculum implementation and impact
  • strengthening inclusion
  • ensuring pupils benefit fully from wider opportunities

Teaching and professional development

Teaching and learning is at the centre of our work.

Staff work with pupils with a wide range of needs, including SEND, EAL, disadvantage and social or emotional needs.

Our graduated response includes: Universal → Targeted → Targeted Plus → Specialist

This includes our Pheasants Targeted Plus provision and Bumblebees specialist provision.

We look for staff who are ambitious for all pupils and understand that inclusion means finding the right support without lowering expectations.
