Share your views with Ofsted
Ofsted Parent View gives parents and carers the opportunity to tell Ofsted what they think about their child’s school.
Parents and carers can complete the survey at any time during the academic year. Ofsted also invites families to complete it when a school is due to be inspected.
What does Parent View ask about?
The survey asks families for their views on areas such as:
- whether children are happy at school
- whether children feel safe
- behaviour
- inclusion and respect
- communication
- how concerns are handled
- leadership
- how well children are supported to learn and succeed
- support for pupils with SEND, where relevant
Why does Ofsted collect this information?
Ofsted uses Parent View responses as one source of evidence about a school.
Responses can help inspectors:
- understand the experiences of parents and carers
- inform discussions with school leaders during inspections
- identify themes or concerns
- contribute to decisions about when a school may need inspection
Parent View responses are considered alongside other evidence and do not, on their own, determine inspection outcomes.
How to complete Parent View
To complete the survey, parents and carers need to register for an Ofsted Parent View account using an email address.
Once registered, you can:
- search for North Mead Primary Academy
- complete the Parent View survey
- view published Parent View results
- sign up for alerts when new results are published
Parents and carers can submit one survey for a school in each academic year. If they submit another survey for the same school during that year, it replaces their earlier response.
Are responses anonymous?
Schools do not receive parents’ or carers’ personal information from Parent View.
Published results are anonymised, and individual written comments are not published publicly. During an inspection, inspectors may see anonymised comments submitted by parents and carers.
Have a concern about North Mead?
Parent View is useful for sharing your overall experience of the school with Ofsted, but it should not replace direct communication with us.
If you have a question or concern, we encourage you to speak to us so that we have the opportunity to understand it and respond.
Depending on the issue, you can contact:
- your child’s class teacher
- a member of the leadership team
- the school office
Telephone: 0116 276 7761
Email: [email protected]
Formal complaints are handled through the school and Trust complaints procedures.
For safeguarding concerns, please contact the school directly rather than using Parent View.
You can use the Parent View website to:
- complete the survey
- search for North Mead’s published Parent View results
- find further guidance about how Parent View works.
