School term and holiday dates

North Mead Primary Academy follows the The Mead Educational Trust term-date calendar.

As an academy, our dates can differ slightly from the standard Leicester City Council dates because of INSET days and Trust professional learning days. Families should therefore use the dates published by North Mead rather than relying on the local authority calendar alone.

Please note: on inset days, pupils are not required to attend school.

These dates are already incorporated into the North Mead calendar above.

Planning holidays and appointments

Families should use published school holidays when planning trips or holidays.

Please avoid arranging:

holidays during term time
routine medical or dental appointments during the school day where an alternative is available
travel that results in children missing the beginning or end of a term

Regular attendance is important because missed school means missed learning, routines and wider opportunities.

Future term dates

Future Leicester school term dates are published by Leicester City Council. Academies may make changes to accommodate their own INSET and professional-development arrangements, so families should always check the North Mead version before making plans.
